Hair Care

Prior to Hair Install

Prior to your first installation, it is important to wash your hair. You will be able to detect any issues such as shedding or matting at this time.

General Hair Brushing Guide

Use a wide tooth comb or paddle brush to gently brush your hair to remove any tangling. When brushing the hair, always start at the bottom and work your way to the top. Brush in small sections of the hair and be careful not to pull on the hair.

Washing

Wash the hair with running lukewarm water and a deep cleansing shampoo. Use paraben-free shampoo and rinse thoroughly.

When using conditioner, allow the conditioner to stay on for at least 15 minutes for best results. Use moisturizing conditioners that are designed for dry hair, rinse thoroughly with cool water.

Drying

Gently pat the hair dry with a towel. Do not rub the hair with the towel to dry and avoid using heated appliances such as heated blow dryers. Allow the hair to air-dry for best results. Do not sleep with wet hair as it can cause severe tangling.

Hair Care for Synthetic Hair

Step 1: Detangle
Gently brush and detangle the wig thoroughly with a wide tooth comb.

Step 2: Wash
Add shampoo to cold water according to directions, and immerse wig for about a minute. Run your fingers over the inside of cap to remove sweat and oils. Please try not to scrub, rub, or twist the hair. Rinse the wig gently and thoroughly with cold water. Do not use hot water as it may loosen the weft or damage the synthetic fiber.

Step 3: Condition
Wig conditioner helps restore the original style pattern of your wig and softens the dryness. After washing, gently pat out excess water in a towel, and avoid wringing or twisting. Apply a small amount of wig conditioner, then evenly distribute conditioner throughout the hair and avoid the cap. Thoroughly rinse with cold running water. If you are using leave-in conditioner or conditioning spray, spray the wig over the entire area from 10-12 inches from the hair.

Step 4: Dry
Gently pat dry with a towel to remove excess water. Do not rub, squeeze, or twist hair. You can gently shake and work your fingers through the hair. Do not use a hair dryer or try to comb a wet wig. Simply place your wig on wig stand or on a can of hairspray to let air dry. To avoid stretching the cap, never place damp wig on mannequin.

Styling:
The greatest benefit of a synthetic wig is that they require very little maintenance and styling. The synthetic fiber has a built-in memory, so a few basic styling techniques are all you need for styling a wig.

Always style your wig when it is completely dry. Use brush or comb that is designed for wigs instead of regular hairbrushes to avoid stretching or damaging your wig. Since the wig has “style memory,” it will retain its original style after wash. You can simply shake the wig, lightly spray it with a bottle of water and work the hair with your fingertips. Never use heat on a synthetic wig, unless it is heat-friendly synthetic hair.

DOs and DON’Ts for synthetic hair:

  • DO always use cold water on a synthetic wig
  • DON’T use a hairdryer or any heating tool
  • DON’T’ brush or comb when wet
  • DON’T use regular human hair products on a synthetic wig
  • DON’T wear your wig when going to bed

Hair Care for Human Hair Extensions

Step 1: Brush
Gently and carefully brush/comb your hair extensions with a wide-tooth comb or a bristle brush to remove tangles. Brush before and after washing your hair.

Step 2: Wash
Wash your hair extensions every 2-3 days to prevent dryness. Always wash human hair extensions with warm water to avoid damage. Use mild, sulfate free and organic moisturizing shampoo. Gently wash the hair in a downward motion with your palms. Rinse thoroughly, and do not scrub your hair to avoid friction. Gently pat hair to remove excess water with towel.

Step 3: Condition and Dry
Apply leave-in conditioner after washing and detangle hair gently with a wide-tooth comb. Let extensions air dry, and if you wash at night, make sure your hair is completely dry before going to bed. You will also need to deep condition once a week. Leave conditioner on hair for at least 20-30 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and let dry.

Styling:
To style hair extensions, use a smooth styling comb. Start at the ends and gently work your way up. If you are using heat appliances to style your hair, make sure your extensions are 100% human hair and use heat protectant. It will prevent breakage and keep your extensions from damage. Always use alcohol-free styling products and avoid excessive use.
